Without our members there is no First Person Plural (FPP). There are tangible membership benefits but just by joining First Person Plural you are also helping us to achieve our aims. The more and varied our members the more likely we will be listened to. Members further have opportunities to influence our direction by providing vital feedback on our work, by voting at the AGM or even becoming a trustee to directly participate in strategic decisions about our future.

How to join : Simply download and print the membership leaflet, complete the form and return it with appropriate payment to:- First Person Plural, PO Box 2537, WOLVERHAMPTON, WV4 4ZL, United Kingdom

Cost : The annual membership fee for both full and affiliate members is just £15.00. For international members it is £20.00. These fees only partially cover the costs of membership benefits so if you can afford more please make an additional donation when joining. Conversely, if you are unwaged and cannot afford the full fee we will accept any amount you can afford. We recommend a minimum of £7.00 but will accept less. For those on means-tested-benefits and in extreme hardship free membership may be available. Contact us to ask about this.

Who can join – Because we are survivor-led full membership is reserved for those with relevant personal lived experience, but almost anyone else can join us as an affiliate member.

Full membership is open only to adult survivors who have personal lived experience of childhood-trauma-related dissociative identity disorder (DID) or similar complex dissociative condition such as DID-like dissociative disorder not otherwise specified (DDNOS).

Affiliate membership is open to:

• non-abusing partners, adult family members and friends of those who have DID or DDNOS;
• registered mental health, physical health, social care professionals and other individuals with a work-related interest in complex childhood-trauma-related dissociative disorders;
• organisations which provide services that are or may be accessed by those who have personal lived experience of childhood-trauma-related dissociative identity disorder (DID) or similar complex dissociative condition and/or by those who treat, care and support them.
• any individual or organisation with an interest in supporting the work of First Person Plural.

Full and affiliate members must be resident or based in the UK

International membership is open to individuals or organisations that meet the criteria for full or affiliate membership except they are not resident or based in the UK.

Members do not necessarily have to become actively involved in First Person Plural but they must be interested in furthering our work. What this means is that there are responsibilities, not just benefits, to membership. Members must honestly support the aims of First Person Plural; must not act intentionally to undermine the association’s work or its reputation; and must behave appropriately and with due care for self (‘selves’) & others when receiving or taking advantage of membership benefits.

Benefits : Membership benefits differ slightly for full and affiliate members:-
