Abuse Types

Organised ritual abuse consists of a complex mix of sexual, physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual abuse. The justifying faith or belief system’s rituals include one or more of these and other features:- use of ceremonial objects, special places (e.g. churches), special dates (feast days), costumes, nudity, secret symbols and/or languages; taking of alcohol/drugs, hypnotism, ingestion of bodily fluids/excretions or other non-food items, actual or simulated human/animal sacrifice, torture, sadistic, unusual sexual activities and physical punishments.  Being taken/sent/sold to be further abused within paedophile rings, child and adult pornography, and prostitution is commonly described by survivors of organised ritual abuse.
