DID and other complex dissociative conditions are not rare
Non recognition and lack of services which have been demonstrated to be effective for DID survivors is un-defendable given the weight of empirical and other evidence now available
Early recognition leading to appropriate services result in the best outcomes
Age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, trauma or previous psychiatric history should not be a barrier to being offered specific effective services commensurate with ISSTD Guidleines for the Treatment of……….
The majority of people who have DID have the capacity to be self-responsible. We recognise this is not always easy to achieve or maintain but an expectation of self-responsibility encourages its development.
